‘Force of Nature’ is a series that uses a ‘bottom-up’ approach to algorithmic development. The process begins with a given set of geometry which is transformed by an algorithm, or a sequence of algorithms. These transformations are called a force of nature, in that they systematically reorganize the given geometry. Chance is fundamental to this processs. This series represents a collection of works that were well suited to fabrication by using drawing techniques. Many use the line or curve as the basic geometrical entity which is well suited for rendering with a drawing instrument. The complete details are described in my book The Physible Universe.
